DILHAM LIFT COUNTY TROPHY AFTER EXTRA TIME THRILLER

Dilham Cross Keys lifted the County Intermediate Cup after a cracking final saw them over come fellow Norwich Sunday League side Salhouse Rovers 3-2 after extra time. Salhouse took the lead in the first half when James Smith latched onto a through ball to calmly beating the keeper, but Daniel Duffield levelled the scores from close range just before the break. Dilham then took the lead early in the second period through a diving header from Jamie Duffield as the game continued to produce some end to end stuff, and after sixty five minutes James Smith scored his second of the game to level the scores. Both sides had chances to win the game in normal time, but another thirty minutes was required. Dilham went back in front early in the first period when Dan Tindall scored from the spot after Antoni Fawkes had been brought down by the Salhouse keeper, and although Smith was agonisingly close to completing his hat trick, the score ended 3-2 to Dilham. James Smith was named Man of the Match and congratulations go to Dilham on lifting the trophy, in a game where both sides were a credit to the League.

In the Premier Division, Acle Rangers secured the runners up spot after  their League Cup Final dress rehearsal against Poringland Wanderers saw goals by Nick Davies 2, Perry Kelf and Julian Bussell help them to a 4-0 victory.

In 1A, a goal from Kevin Brown ensured that Vale Longo finished their season with a creditable 1-1 draw at Champions Bungay Town. In the battle of the bottom two, Mad Moose ran out 4-2 winners over bottom side DCS Rapid.

The only game played in 2A saw Bungay Town Res win 6-2 at Ketts Tavern Wizards.

In 3A, Champions The Middle Green completed a good first season for the club with a 7-1 (Jon Bailey 2, Chris Willimott, Sam Bird, Chris Sutcliffe, Alex Riseborough, Nick Mckenzie) home win over Sporting Longdale Res. Westfield also scored seven as they won at AFC Westlegate, Ollie Harwood and Harvey Harwood scored for the home side, whilst Tasburgh Utd and Winfarthing shared six goals and the points in their South Norfolk "Derby".

The one game in 3B saw Hethersett Athletic Res gain the upper hand against Binham Village but failed to put away a few chances before Ben Wright converted to give them the lead. Shortly after, a mix up in the Binham defence let in Wright to score again. The visitors then responded well and reduced the arrears before half time. Scott Grimes scored just after the break, but Binham again pulled a goal back to make it 3-2, but Wright completed his ever hat-trick for Hethersett from the spot. Grimes then went onto complete a hat trick of his own and with 10 minutes to go Jamie Wright found space 30 yards out and rifled a stunning strike that went in off the underside of the crossbar to compete the scoring. A good game of football and credit to Binham who worked extremely hard with 10 men for the 90 minutes.
