ACLE SHOW TITLE CREDENTIALS
After last weeks County Cup action, it was back to the League programme this weekend with those in the "concentrate on the league" frame of mind after defeats last week, being given the chance to do so.
In the Premier Division Acle Rangers moved two points clear at the top with an excellent 4-0 win at Schoolhouse. DE FC are second after goals from Mo Bah 2, Richard Skelly 2, Ashley Davies and John Maslin helped them to a six goal win over Farmhouse, and Riverside Rovers also scored six Jordan Rocastle 3, Roy bevis Aaron Kay, Kyle McClelland) as they won at Horsford United. Dilham Cross Keys moved away from the foot of the table after winning 2-1 (James Marsh, Oliver Bell) at Poringland Wanderers.
In 1A, the top two remain the same after victories. Norman Wanderers were 3-1 winners at Warwick St United and The Middle Green scored eight (Jacob Skinner 2, Jonny Bailey 2, James Dyson, Jake Mardel, Dom Doggett, Kevin Willimott) whilst winning at Vale Longo. Longdale Rovers are third after winning 6-1 (Lloyd Nobbs 2, Jamie Metcalf, Ryan Roberts, Louis Brown, og) at New Buckenham and Brooke continued their good league run by beating Constable Crusaders by the odd goal of five. In the "Wall Rd" derby, Windmill Wanderers came out on top as they beat Mischief FC 2-1, Callum Gamble and Aaron James with the goals. With morning leaders Sprowston Wanderers inactive, Aslacton took the chance to go back to the top of the table by scoring nine (Justin Womack 4, Dean Mortimer 2, Ed Lake 2, Sam Carr) without reply at home to Binham Village. Silver Fox stayed in touch with a 2-0 win over Phoenix and Briston Wanderers had a good 4-2 (Jnny Brown 2, Damian Williams, Jack Newstead) win at Trimingham Pilgrims. Salhouse Rovers followed up last weeks cup win by beating Cellar House 5-1 with goals coming from Dan Bareham, Craig Boyles, Haydn Cunningham, Ryan Frankland, James Smith and Hethersett Athletic came back from Acle Rangers Res with a 3-1 (Tom Nurse 2, Jonathan Freeman) victory.
In 2A, probably the shock of the day was morning leaders Winfarthing going down to a 6-2 home defeat against MC Rovers. The result included an amazing performance from Ryan Gray who scored all six for Rovers. This allowed Hewett OB to return to the top after Matty Hoeppner, Ryan Wiley and Dom Dodds all scored in a 3-1 win at Brooke Res. Third placed SNS FC beat Mettingham 5-1 and their was a first win of the season for DCS Rapid as they scored seven Brett Kingsbury 2, Neal Gardner, Chris Good, Jorge Strowger, James Shortall, Darragh Walsh) without reply against Warwick St Utd Res. Norman Wanderers Res and Micawbers Tavern shred the points and four goals as they drew at Manor Rd. In 2B, Norwich Ceyms retained their 100% record after a comfortable 9-2 (Jamie Ingle 3, Jack Hurrell 2, Luke McClure, Aaron Briggs, Lewis Allen, Matty Sewell) win at Hethersett Athletic Res. East Tuddenham had a narrow 3-2 win over Bunwell AFC and Blofield United got back to winning ways, scoring eight (Joe Sayer 2, Harvey Harwood 2, Brad Lake, Alex Clemment, Zac Jones, Josh McCarthy) in the win over FC Viking. Sprowston Athletic were 4-1 (James White 2, James Parr, Kirk Appleton) winners at Barracks FC whilst North Walsham hit a dozen when beating Sporting Iceni.
3A leaders Woolpack FC also maintained their 100% record with a closely fought 2-1 (Ricky Bevis, Liam Moriarty) win over Marlborough. Norman Wanderers A stay second after thumping Eaton Park Corinthians and Drayton Dazzlers continued their good start, winning 3-0 at Nelson Athletic. Cotman United had a 2-1 (Jordan Sexton, Matt Daynes) win at AFC Norwich and Hempnall went down 3-2 at Mad Moose Athletic. Connor Charlesworth, Danny Shafiyan and Will McClean were on target for Moose. Longdale Rovers Res scored five (Ryan Newell 2, Steve Walpole, Glenn Brown, og) of the eight goals in their game with Woodton United.
In the Under 19 A Division, leaders Watton United suffered a 2-0 defeat at Scole United thanks to a Harry Browne double, whilst Attleborough Town gained ground by beating Swanton Morley 7-0. Long Stratton beat Dereham Town 3-1, whilst Reepham Town were 6-2 (Josh Cohu 4, Luke Dubinski, Jack West) victors at Heigham Park Rangers. In the B Division, leaders Old Catton won 5-3 at St Andrews and Cringleford drew 2-2 at home to Easton, whilst the game between Aylsham and Rockland United was abandoned due to a serious injury. We wish the player a speedy recovery.
